Is there parking at the house?

Saas-Fee is car-free. Upon arrival you park your car in a parking garage and take a taxi to „Alte Post“.

Where do I park my car upon arrival in Saas-Fee and how do I get a taxi?

You stop at one of the lay-bys in the loading and unloading area of the garage. You call one of the numerous taxi companies and name your location. Then you start unloading your car and park it in the garage. The taxi picks you up at your luggage and drives you to “Alte Post”. The fare is about CHF 25.

Where do I find the key to the house?

The apartment has 2 doors. The front door is not locked. The keys to the second door are under the mat in front of it. The second apartment key is on the dining room table.

How many keys to the house are there?

We will provide you with 2x2 keys: 2 for each door.

Where is the entrance to the apartment?

The entrance to the „Alte Post“ is on the back of the building. Just walk up Kirchstrasse and then enter the first floor through the staircase.

The old stairs at Dorfstrasse are not in use any more and cannot be stepped on. They are dangerous and not de-iced in the winter.

Are stairs and forecourt de-iced and cleared of snow?

Forecourt and stairs are being cleaned of snow and ice. However this might take until later in the day. Feel free to use the tools in front of the downstairs apartment. We use salt sparingly. The streets of Saas-Fee are being snow-plowed early in the morning.

How far away are the ski lifts?

Ski lifts are 10 Minute walking distance.

Where is the closest shopping area?

The closest shopping area is located right next to the house.

Is the apartment suited for people suffering allergies?

We do not have any wall-to-wall carpeting or feather beds in the house. Saas-Fee is 1.800 meters a.s.l.

Does the apartment have a sauna?

The apartment does not come with a sauna. You will find Spas nearby (Schweizerhof, Ferienart, Saas-Hof)

Does the apartment have a Jacuzzi?

The apartment does have a Jacuzzi.

Is there internet access and how much does it cost?

The apartment has a WLAN Internet connection that is password protected. Please read through the user guidelines and liability implications for downloads. They are located in the black folder in the apartment together with the SSL key. The WLAN is available in the entire apartment.

Do you have a baby cot?

Yes, we have a travel baby cot available. We are happy to provide this for you at no additional cost. Please let us know at the time of reservation.

What kind of heating installation does the apartment have?

The apartment is heated utilizing three night-storage-heaters, electrical floor heating in the master suite as well as the en-suite and shower bathrooms and electrical heaters in both upstairs bedrooms.

Are there single and double beds in the apartment? What size are they?

The master suite has a double bed (2x2 meters; US king size; UK super king size). One upstairs bedroom has two separate beds (1x2 meters); the other has two single beds side-by-side (1x2 meters each).

Do the groceries open on Sunday so that we can buy food?

Shops are open Sundays during Winter season.

How many bathrooms are in the apartment?

The apartment has three bathrooms, three toilets, 2 showers, and one Jacuzzi.

Is the apartment suitable for the handicapped?

The apartment is not accessible for the handicapped due to the outside staircase and the staircase to the attic.

Where can we deposit our skis and boards?

You can leave you skis and boards in the vestibule next to the shoe shelves. That way you can also lock them in. You can also deposit your gear with Egginer Sport (Mischistrasse, at the corner of Gletscherstrasse).

Who do we turn to during our stay?

How much is the charge for the fixed line phone in the apartment and what is the phone number?

We only charge for calls at cost according to the providers (Swisscom) bill. Your number is +41 27 9572611. Please be advised that in order to invoice you properly we receive an itemized bill with phone number records.

Where is the nearest Helicopter base?

Air Zermatt offer service to Geneva and Zurich airports from Zermatt and Raron (Visp area). Taxi services can be arranged to Saas-Fee.

What kind of audio and video entertainment is in the apartment? Does it make sense to bring an iPod?

We have an HD Flat TV (Sony) and a Sony Surround Stereo with an iPod docking station installed.

Will transportation from parking to the house be prearranged? How do we get to parking on the day of departure?

Please call a taxi from one of the lay-bys in the loading and unloading area of the parking garage. The taxi drives you to “Alte Post”. The fare is about CHF 25. We strongly recommend to pre-book a taxi 2 days in advance of your return trip.

Can we not get in the apartment before 4pm on the day of arrival? Can we leave our luggage in the apartment? Do we really have to leave the apartment by 10 am on the day of departure?

Unfortunately, you cannot. We need 6 hours to clean the apartment and to change towels and bedding. Feels free to drop off your luggage in front of the house (at your own risk).
